Athletics profile of the week

The soccer season at Fanshawe is coming to an end. This week we feature two players from the Falcon's soccer team as they get ready for the playoffs coming up on Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21.

Fidel Villanueva
Playing the position of midfielder, Villanueva uses his vast experience to help the Falcons make a huge impact on college soccer around Ontario. At his high school, Regina Mundy, Villanueva played for their team and winning the award of MVP.

Since then, he has gone on to play for the London United, Regional Program and Ontario Provincial soccer teams. Villanueva has become an Ontario Allstar and an Ontario Cup Champ.

When not on the field, Villanueva is studying Civil Engineering Technology at Fanshawe. In his spare time, he loves going to movies and chilling at coffee pubs.

We wish him the best of luck this weekend at the playoffs and in his future soccer career.

Sarah Nishikawa
In her first year at Fanshawe, Nishikawa is studying Marketing in the Business Program. Having recently graduated from Dunbarton High School in Pickering Ontario, Nishikawa has been involved with different teams for many years particularly Soccer and Cross Country. Before graduating, Nishikawa won the Soccer and Leadership Award from her high school two years in a row. Currently, she plays midfield striker for the Fanshawe Falcons women's soccer team.

In her spare time Nishikawa enjoys hitting the town as she loves London for it's friendly people and constant activities. We hope that Nishikawa stays with the Falcons for that extra year, as she has proven herself a superb player and asset to the team!
