Can't go wrong with sweet desserts, especially on Valentine's Day.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. But what if you don’t have a gift for your significant other and or are on a budget? No worries. Here are seven easy and inexpensive gift ideas for Valentine’s Day.

A playlist is perfect for the music lover in your life, this gift is one of the most inexpensive (pretty much free!) personal gift anyone can make. All you need is an app like Spotify (free version works just fine) or even a YouTube account. Just create a playlist that has meaning to your significant other.

A love box is a great gift to show someone you listen. A love box is filled with treats and tiny gifts that your lover will find useful or just enjoy. Most grocery stores, like No Frills, give free boxes when asked. Some items that can be put in the love box include: their favourite chips, chocolates, movies, popcorn, gift cards, socks, razors, or any other gift on this list!

If you are a couple that struggles with date ideas, the date night jar will be a life saver in the future. For this you will need any empty jar (or even a small box) and cut up strips of paper. Take a slip of paper and write out a date idea than fold it up and put into the box. Continue until the jar or box is full.

How about telling your lover what you love about them in a creative way? This is similar to the date night idea jar/box but instead its filled with many reasons why you love your significant other. It can big things like “you are always supportive of me” to smaller things like “you put the toilet seat down.”

Open when letters are great if you are in a relationship where you don’t see each other very often. You will need envelopes, paper and anything else you wish to add. For this, write on the envelopes ‘open when’… (insert whatever you want here). For example, open when sad, open when you miss me, open when you are sick, etc. Fill the envelope with a note and or a little gift that is relevant. Love coupons are another great alternative. Just write out little tasks (either clean or naughty) that your partner will appreciate.

Last but not least, ordering a pizza in the shape of a heart is perfect for the foodie in your life. If the restaurant won’t make the pizza in the shape just ask them to arrange the toppings instead. Bonus, write a cute message inside the box.
