Fanshawe College, along with Instituto del Sur (ISUR) of Arequipa, Peru, have made an agreement that will enable students and faculty to move between both institutions.

On July 10, Alfredo Rivera Diaz, director general of ISUR, toured Fanshawe’s main and downtown campuses.

Jeff Wright, Fanshawe’s vice-president, signed the collective agreement alongside Rivera.

According to a July 10 press release from Fanshawe College corporate communications, further discussions will focus on opportunities for leadership development, applied research and dual programming. Later this month, Wright plans on visiting ISUR, which currently offers 11 career programs.

“For the past 12 years, ISUR has developed close relationships with Canadian institutions mainly under the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) through EduCanada,” the press release read. “ELAP provides scholarships to students from Latin America and the Caribbean for short-term exchange opportunities to study and conduct academic research in Canada.”
