The popular Richmond Row restaurant, Delilah's is the site of a COVID-19 outbreak.

The Middlesex-London Health Unit has declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at Delilah’s (formerly Barking Frog) at 209 John Street. 15 patrons who attended the restaurant have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the health unit, three cases were initially recorded on Aug. 13 and an additional 12 were recorded on Aug. 14. In response, the health unit is urging anyone who attended the restaurant from Aug. 5-7 to monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 and get tested for the virus as necessary.

“We know that it raises concerns when the Health Unit declares a COVID-19 outbreak,  especially at a restaurant, but we are starting to see cases and outbreaks increase in our  region, including cases in individuals who are vaccinated,” said Dr. Alex Summers,  Associate Medical Officer of Health with the Middlesex-London Health Unit. “Even though patios and restaurants are open and indoor dining is permitted, we must not let our guard  down. Wear a mask, maintain physical distancing, gather outdoors as much as possible and if you’re spending any time indoors, make sure everyone you’re hanging out with is fully vaccinated.”

The health unit is also recommending the following:

  • Get vaccinated
  • Gather outdoors as much as possible
  • Wear a mask, especially indoors
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with your sleeve or cough into your elbow
  • Clean high-touch areas often
At this time, the restaurant has not been asked to close, however, the health unit is encouraging the continued wearing of masks and physical distancing inside all open establishments. Click here for more information on finding a vaccination clinic in London.
