President's Perspective: A message from your President
Welcome summer students!
My name is Travis Mazereeuw and I am your president of the Fanshawe Student Union. This summer is jam-packed with awesome fun stuff for you to enjoy. If you haven't seen us come to your class yet then you've probably missed your class, but that's ok! The FSU has just published a summer events calendar with all the dates you need to remember. We have trips to Canada's Wonderland, Cedar Point and even NEW YORK CITY! All of this info can be found at the Biz Booth. The Biz Booth is your summer stop of info and fun! It's located right past the Out Back Shack.
The FSU office is located on the second floor of the student centre, SC2001. Please feel free to stop in and check us out, come to say hi, or just come to get some info. This council is unlike any student council you have even seen. We aren't just here to have a fun time and ignore any issues that may be going on. We have a strong team this year, stronger then any student council team in the world! I have no proof to back that up but I can assure you we will try harder then I've seen in the past. The student council offers plenty of services for you, here are just a few: Health Plan, Dental Plan, bus passes, club events and rooms, entertainment, peer tutoring, not to mention this wonderful paper your reading right now. The Student council has someone to help you with any concerns you can think of: VP Entertainment, VP athletics, VP Finance, VP Internal, VP External and myself the President. We are all here to help you out with ANYTHING you need assistance with, even if it's just some information you're looking for.
I wish the best of luck to you in the upcoming year and I hope Fanshawe can be the best school experience of your life. Everyone here at the FSU are friendly, open and approachable. This doesn't mean we are here to fool around; The FSU team you have to serve you this year is dedicated and wants to work for you. If we can't help you we can find someone you can. I am very proud of the VPs you've elected and I hope that with your help this can be the best year Fanshawe has to offer.
