Holiday advice from the big guy upstairs

If you need anymore holiday tips or questions about the FSU, just head upstairs in the Student Centre, SC2001

The holiday break is coming and that means time to relax. Did you take any time to think about how enjoyable this break can be?

This is the time for you to shut your brain down for a little bit, give it a break from those exams and late nights of studying and having wholesome chats with fellow chums. However if this is not done properly it can be a ball of stress wrapped in pain and I am here to ensure your break is the best it can be.

Going home? Going to sleep for 73-hours straight? Going to play video games for 98-hours straight? Going to shop for every waking hour? Going to relax with a nice bottle of wine and a book? Any of these things can be stressful, or they could be the perfect break needed to ensure a proper return to college come January 2008.

For those of you who are going home, make sure to take in everything you've missed, it could be homemade cookies, or your favourite couch to sit and veg in or just the fact you're fighting with your brother or sister again.

Now this is not a time to sit and dread the days until you have to go back to college, they already have someone for that, his name is Judge.

Honestly this is a perfect time to think about what you will miss come graduation. This is a long break, which gives you the time to sit back and reflect, to let the light shine in to the dark corridors of your conciseness and realize that this is life. This is the path to find yourself. Wait. What am I talking about? Who knows?? Why am I using so many question marks? Who loves snow? I DO!

Remember when you were a kid and you walked home in the snow and it was amazing? Try to relive those moments, try to have some fun this break.

Don't forget the FSU is here to help you in anyway we can. If you have any concerns about your exams or the marking you can contact the FSU VP External Arif Erten, or if your funding is running short feel free to contact the VP Finance Chris Pressey.

These are just a couple of ways we can help you out. If you are looking to see what exciting events we have planned for next semester check out the FSU webpage www.fsu.on.ca or contact the VP Entertainment Sean Russell.

If you feel like being more active contact VP Athletics Jon Hillis for ways to stay fit and ways to get involved with sports here at the college. Maybe you want to start a club to share your passion with other students, and if you do why not contact VP Internal Jason Wilton because he would be happy to help you out. These are all ways to get involved and stay on top of your education here and Fanshawe.

This is the last article I am writing before the holiday break so on behalf of the FSU, I wish you the best on your exams and hope you enjoy the rest of your semester.
