Anne of Green Gables on stage for the holidays

If you have ever wanted to go to the Grand Theater here in London now is the best time to do it. The little redheaded girl from Green Gables is showcased in this year's holiday feature; Anne of Green Gables.

With the adorable set of Green Gables in the quaint little town of Avonlea, Anne Shirley, Gilbert Blythe, Diana Barry, along with Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert will steal your heart.

This adorable story of Anne of Green Gables turned musical is very entertaining and at most times quite humorous. Anne Shirley is an awkward and free spirited little orphan-girl who comes to Avonlea to be adopted by brother and sister Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, who are expecting a boy.

Much to their surprise, the siblings grow fond of the outspoken girl and decide not to send her back to the orphanage. With Anne's wild imagination and quick temper, she doesn't easily fit in at school or in the town, but she soon meets her best friend Diana Barry, and with her help along with the help of Matthew and Marilla, Anne begins to fit in better.

Gilbert Blythe is a boy that goes to school with Anne and Diana, and from the beginning teases Anne about her red hair. From that moment on Anne vows to hate him, but secretly doesn't hate him all that much.

With amazing costumes and catchy songs and dances, they take us through Anne's life in Avonlea, and show us that anyone that puts their mind to it can achieve their dreams. Anne is at the top of her class, and she beats Gilbert for a chance at a scholarship. Things are going good for Anne when tragedy strikes her adoptive family, and Anne decides not to go to Queen's and instead stays in Avonlea. In the end, she decides to give the opportunity to someone else, someone you wouldn't expect, and eventually Anne and Gilbert decide to become friends.

With a very strong cast of actors and a great classic Canadian Story, Lucy Montgomery's “Anne of Green Gables” is brought to life. I suggest you go out and watch this great play before it's too late. It's wonderful for the whole family and for every age. It was really a spectacular experience and I hope you take advantage of it. You can buy tickets at www.grandtheatre.com.

Anne of Green Gables is playing now until December 30.
