Students premiere Fanshawe-made films

The students of the Advanced Filmmaking program premiered their documentary films on December 4. The theme, ‘Londoners who are making a difference in our community' was represented by four short documentaries:

Music for Life — explores musical education for children.

Protecting Our Children — examines the role of foster care families in London.

Roy — studies the life of local eccentric Roy McDonald.

Watch This Naked — peeks through the window of a community sex shop.

In addition to the documentaries, three short animated films also premiered. Written by the Advanced Filmmaking students, animated by the Advanced Multimedia students and scored by the Music Industry Arts students, these films demonstrated the truly collaborative nature of a Fanshawe education.

After the screening, student filmmakers and students of the Advanced Multimedia and Music Industry Arts were in attendance to answer any questions about their respective films as well as their roles, duties and responsibilities on the various project(s). Finally, the evening concluded with a pizza reception, an equipment demo and a tour of Fanshawe's production studios —the largest of its kind in Southwestern Ontario.

In case you missed any of these, don't worry! Fanshawe's Advanced Filmmaking students will be premiering fiction films this January. See the Interrobang for further details over the next few weeks.
