Exec Corner: A Halloween party, Vegas style

It's time to take a break, drink a beer and do something fun over Halloween weekend. I've got a few suggestions that might help out. The first event I would suggest is a festival called Vegoose, which takes place October 28 to October 31 in Las Vegas. A music festival and Vegas; you can't go wrong.

October 29 and 30 you will be able to go to Sam Boyd Stadium and enjoy a wide range of musical talent. Including; Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, Beck, Trey Anastasio, the Arcade Fire, Primus, the Flaming Lips, Talib Kweli, Blackalicious and many more. During these days you can also enjoy a wide variety of activities and events. Fresh from the Burning Man Festival will be Vau de Vire's Twisted Cabaret Circus Tent that will showcase circus performers, aerialists, burlesque, and cutting edge musical acts like the Barry Syska Orchestra, which is an old-school Vaudeville six-piece band. And Lucent Dossier, a 14 piece Vaudeville circus. It's gonna be crazy.

If two days of music isn't enough for you, there will be night shows from October 28 to 31 in venues such as Aladdin Theatre and The Joint. Bands range from Robert Randolph, Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds, Gov't Mule, Phil Lesh, Galactic and Widespread Panic with an exclusive set by The Crystal Method. This is an event that has tons to offer and will definitely have a huge impact within the music community. If you would like to learn more about Vegoose, go to www.vegoose.com.

This event will cost a few dollars to go check out, but if you can do it, it will leave you with memories and stories to tell for years to come.

If you can't go to Vegoose, come chill with me Friday, October 28 at the Outback Shack for New Music Night featuring Ruth's Hat, Staylefish and Flatlined; its only $5 at the door. Music, beer and the Outback Shack equals the right way to start off your weekend.

If you're looking to end your weekend with a Halloween celebration, I have the perfect solution for you. October 31 will be Fanshawe's Halloween pub in Forwell Hall. This pub has sold out the past 29 of 30 years. At Fanshawe, we know how to celebrate great events, so come check this one out. You can get tickets at the Biz Booth.
