New Registrar settles in on campus

Janice Lamoureux's office may look a little sparse at the moment, but the new Registrar, only two days on the job when Interrobang caught up with her, is already starting to settle in.

Lamoureux, as the new registrar is, in her words, the person who has the ‘authority of stamping credentials and transcripts.' Though the less basic explanation of the registrar's job is to oversee all the sub-divisions within the department which include admissions, registration and records, financial aid, international and immigrant services along with systems and fees.

“I worked for Camosun College in Victoria for 13-years,” said Lamoureux. “I lived in Toronto for a while and loved it. So when it was time to make a change choosing Fanshawe was easy because it's a great school and well-recognized.”

“I would say what I can bring to Fanshawe is a business and entrepreneurial background,” Lamoureux responded when asked about what she hopes to give the college. “My focus in my previous position was to provide superior services and respect in how we treat the students, and that's what I'm going to do here.”
