The first signs of Spring

Nothing's better than feeling the first signs of spring.

The Spring season can hold many different meanings to people. Spring could mean a new wardrobe, new beginnings, a feeling of freedom or a fresh start.

In Canada there are only really four months of spring/summer, so buying all new clothes is kind of unnecessary. Winter clothing is probably the seasonal clothing you should invest most of your hard earned cash, but I too, for some reason, find spring and summer clothing just fit and feel nicer, making it more tempting to buy. Like I've said in pervious articles, you definitely can inject summer clothes into your winter wardrobe by adding tight/leggings under a skirt with boots and tanks tops under cardigans etc. In current ad campaigns in fashion magazines such as Vogue, designers are stressing white, non-sun exposed skin, is in. With models sporting white porcelain, reflecting skin, unlike the heavily bronzed skin we are used to seeing in previous seasons.

I always know Spring is here when you see guys sporting shorts in April, even when it's still a little chilly out. I then know that spring has got to be a couple weeks away at the max. Also when you see girls pushing the skirt, it too will still be chilly out, but you can definitely relate to the urgency of wanting spring to be here as soon as possible.

To officially welcome the Spring season, fashion forecasters are pushing bright colours, florals and clothing with artistic twist.

The designers have done an amazing job for Spring/Summer '08. If you are the type of person who loves your dark clothing, adding a bright belt, sunglasses, handbag or bangles, will keep your hand in fashion and keep you looking great.

My all-time favourite is clothing with an artful twist. Dolce & Gabbana designers worked with professional artists and painters to get their desired look and inspiration for the season. Models walked down the runway in literally pieces of artwork. With T-shirt, pants and breath-taking dresses, splattered to perfection in multi-colored paint. For Spring anything goes as long it's fun and bright and it looks like your enjoying the season to its fullest, because the next thing you know it will be fall again.

P.S: In April's Flare Magazine, Fanshawe College's Brandon R. Dwyer, got a mention as ‘Ones to Watch” as an up and comer in Canadian fashion.
