CSA's got your political back

It was difficult to go anywhere this past Tuesday without hearing about Obama's inauguration. It was on the radio, the front page of The London Free Press, and all over Fanshawe TV. I only wish Canadians cared as much about their own government, it's bad enough we prefer their movies and their football league, the least we could do is pay a little more attention to our own politics. Then again it's hard to take an interest in having an election when as soon as we're finished with one the losing parties start talking about joining forces and having another one.

If you do not care about Canadian politics, luckily the College Student Alliance (CSA) does. Two weeks ago the Fanshawe Student Union hosted a CSA awareness week which brought an end to the “We've Got Your Back” campaign. The lucky winner of the draw won $200 cash. The purpose of the awareness week was to provide information to Fanshawe students about what the CSA does both on a provincial and federal level.

Even though because you attend Fanshawe College you are a member of the CSA, it is still important that you pay attention to what is going on in your country and at the very least what is going on in your school. If you are at all interested in student government and working with the CSA, nominations for next year's Fanshawe Student Union open January 26. Just come to the Student Union office in SC2001 for more information.
