Let the races begin

Participants running for this year's Fanshawe Student Union President and Vice President positions will have some friendly competition as final nominees are in.

According to FSU executives, this year's council was very active in promoting the elections, which resulted in more applicants then in previous years.

Running for the president position are Nick Austin, Jabari Cooper, Jessica Hicks, and Judith Grieve. The President of the FSU plays a vital role with the development and upkeep in ensuring the student body is properly taken care of and looked after.

For the VP Athletics position, your nominees are Justin Clancy, Sean Coleshill and Sarah Vandonk. The VP for this position wants every student at Fanshawe College to get involved. Whether it is by playing on a team or simply coming out cheering on existing teams, just come on out and have fun taking part in new experiences around campus.

VP Internal nominees are Kevin McKay and Jennifer Eedy. This position allows the VP to organize events such as Sexual Awareness Week, Shinerama and Alcohol Awareness Week that are all very unique and an important aspect to the Fanshawe College community.

VP External nominees are Veronica Barahona and Rob McGarry. This position enables the VPs to properly lend a helping hand to fellow Fanshawe students by assisting them with any appeals, concerns and course outline malfunctions they may be experiencing. The VP also gets the privilege to have a relationship between Fanshawe College and other surrounding colleges.

Running for the VP of Entertainment are Ian Jaspers-Fayer, Phil Laffin and Andrew Payne. In order to fill this excitement-filled position the elected VP will need to have an open mind and be willing to accommodate the student diverse needs. The winner will be in charge of organizing and putting together events and parties.

VP Finance nominees are Joseph Scalia and Huruy Woldemicael. This position involves getting to know the ins and outs for how the FSU is run on a daily basis. The chosen VP will deal with bursaries and OSAP and pretty much anything to do with money.
