Get caught recycling

Isn't the thought of getting caught exciting?

I mean recycling of course, and here's why, all during Environmental Awareness Week anyone “caught” recycling will be handed a ballot to enter to win a free bicycle. There will also be fun events happening all through the week, get involved with any of them and you will also be given a ballot for the draw for the free bike.

Environmental Awareness Week happens March 30 to April 3.

Monday, March 30 - Free Movie Night
We will be playing the documentary “Flow” at 8 pm in Forwell Hall; the first fifty people will receive free environmentally friendly water bottles!

Tuesday, March 31 - Knowing is Half the Battle
Stop by the booths set up in the hallway in front of the bookstore. Get information on what Fanshawe is doing to help the environment, what you can do to help, and about all the events we have planned for Environmental Awareness Week. We're also giving out seeds you can plant to make your home a little greener.

Wednesday, April 1 - Green for your green
This isn't an April Fool's joke, you can win cash prizes! Come by Forwell Hall at noon and enter to play recycling themed games to win $200 in prizes. You can also enter the re-usable shopping bag decorating contest. Here's how it works, use any re-usable shopping bag or tote bag, decorate it any way you want and then drop it off in Forwell Hall between 11:30 and noon with your contact information and the winner gets $100 in cash, second place gets $50, and third place gets $25. The winners will be announced that day in Forwell Hall following the recycling themed shenanigans; if you aren't there we will call or email you to let you know.

There will be a Campus Clean-up. Meet up in Forwell Hall at 4:30 pm, you'll get in a team of four or five people with a garbage bag and recycling box and walk around outside the school picking up garbage and recycling. Don't worry, gloves will be provided (safety first, you know). After the clean up there will be a free dinner of pizza, pop, and fruit.

Thursday, April 2 - Get Caught Green Handed
If it rains on Wednesday, the Campus Clean-up will be scheduled for Thursday instead.

As Environmental Awareness Week comes to an end, make sure you are still recycling because the FSU will have spies lurking near recycling facilities (but not in a creepy way) making sure to give ballots for the free bike draw to anyone that recycles.

Friday, April 3 - Play Free Bird!
The Social Justice Club will be hosting a Free Market Day in Forwell Hall from 9 am to 2 pm. If you have anything you do not need, that someone else may be able to use, don't be wasteful and throw it away, drop it off in Forwell Hall to be re-used by someone else. Likewise, if you need something, stop by Forwell Hall and see if you can pick it up for free. It saves you money and it is better for the environment.

The only way to get a ballot is to come out to the environmental events or to get caught recycling.
