Mastering city limo service

If you are attending Fanshawe as a full-time student this fall, you now have in your possession a shiny new, London bus pass. If you own a vehicle, you might be tempted to toss this little slip of paper into a pile with the rest of the orientation paraphernalia you received in the last week; BUT WAIT!

This pass holds extraordinary value and must be treated with respect! Citizens of this fine town pay almost $81.00 a month ($972 a year!) for this privilege, so take a moment and consider it's benefits before deciding that you're too cool for the bus.

The city bus can be your best friend. Right off the bat, you don't have to pay for parking or gas. This is going to save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars this school year. Winter is around the corner (sorry, it's true) the bus means you don't have to scrape snow and ice off your car in the morning.

The bus is also a great place to relax. At the end of a long day of classes, it's nice not to have to wrestle with traffic. You can grab a snack, text your girlfriend, or even catch some zzzzz's on your way home.

In the morning, the bus is a great place to cram for upcoming tests or put the finishing touches on an overdue paper. Whatever works...

Don't forget about the bus on the weekend too! Grab a free ride downtown and then cab it home. You don't have to waste money on parking downtown and then you'll know for sure that no one will be driving home after a few too many drinks.

Don't forget the environmental benefits of taking the bus as well; you can significantly reduce your carbon footprint by cutting back on the amount of greenhouse gas emissions you generate each day.

Still not convinced?

It's actually 79 per cent safer to ride in a bus than a car! (Seriously, look it up!)

In London, the buses run pretty much on schedule, so be on time if not a few minutes early when catching your ride. Every bus driver believes that they hold the right and the excuse to be running a bit behind, but you do not! You can be running alongside a bus, waving your arms wildly, screaming and kicking the tires and that coach will continue on without you. So give yourself a few extra minutes.

New to the LTC this year is their Bike and Ride service. This allows you to take your bike on the bus with you! This opens up a whole slew of transit options. You can bike to school, but still take the bus home if it starts raining. You can bus to school and then ride your bike home at the end of the day when you don't mind getting sweaty or ruining your hair.

Visit this site for an explanation of the Bike and Ride service, there's a pretty entertaining instructional video on how to use the bike racks located at the front of the bus which is totally worth watching.
