NFL Czar: Time for Brett to earn his money

While not everyone may love Brett Favre or his decision making skills, I must let it be known that I am a huge Favre fan, and I love what he is doing with the Minnesota Vikings. He has helped transform the Vikings offence into one of the league's best, and with RB Adrian Peterson, the Vikes could be primed for a deep playoff run.

One team in the way right now is the Pittsburgh Steelers. The defending champs have struggled to close out a bunch of games this year, but they will be primed up to shut down a top team from the NFC. Could we be witnessing a Super Bowl Preview?

Key Matchups
1. Rashard Mendenhall vs. Willie Parker: Yes, these are both Pittsburgh Steelers running backs. I realize this, but at some point, a decision will have to be made. It is clear that Mendenhall is ready, and if “Fast Willie” can't stay healthy/effective, it may be time to hand the ball over to the former first rounder.

2. Brett Favre vs. Pittsburgh D: The 40-year old is playing well, but the speedy defence from “Blitzberg” may be able to slow the old man down. Let's be honest, Favre can't run around anymore. I think reigning Defensive Player of the Year James Harrison is excited about this one.

3. Jared Allen vs. Max Starks: Speaking of guys who can't wait for this game, how about sack machine Jared Allen? The Steelers have one of the worst offensive lines in football, and Allen has proven time and time again he can get to the QB.

The Rundown
This could go a number of ways. Both defences are capable of completely shutting down the opponent, while it could also turn into an offensive shootout. Both teams like to run the ball, but both defences are primed to stop the run. I think the Steelers are out to prove they still belong in the AFC playoff picture, while the Vikes will likely be beat up after a gruelling home game against Baltimore. I take the Steelers in this one, 21-17.

Week Eight brings us many big games, it will be hard to choose just one...(spoiler maybe?)
