Top 10 in celebrity dirt

Can you believe that the first term is almost done? By now you might be swamped with final assignments, studying for tests and the general craziness that comes with the end of the semester drawing near. So why not take a break and enjoy some fun, frivolous celebrity news.

1. Adam Lambert kisses a girl and he likes it.
Openly gay American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert is giving his fans something to talk about in his recent risqué photo shoot with Details magazine. Featuring a nude model and a strategically placed hand on her chest, the photos show Lambert all up in that — about to engage in some lip lock action with said model. Tongue and everything. Lambert says, “I am gay, but I like to kiss women sometimes. Women are pretty. It doesn't mean I'm necessarily sleeping with them.” Fair enough.

2. Balloon Boy's family's future up in the air.
While recognizing the utter ridiculousness of this entire situation, it's also important to acknowledge that this family provides a sad reality of what people will do for fame. Apparently, the wife, Mayumi Heene, admitted in an affidavit that the family knew that little Falcon hadn't been in the balloon and that the entire debacle was to garner media attention. Can you imagine the therapy these kids will need?

3. Amy Winehouse racks ‘em up.
Some recent photos of the Rehab singer in a low-cut top hint at some new assets. Yet, even with these attention-getting purchases, do we still care about the Wino? Or would she have been better off putting her money towards a legitimate comeback?

cast of Glee4. Fox milks the Glee cash cow.
Fox's new gem, Glee, has already got a massively loyal following and now has the attention of her Madge-sty. The show about a misfit glee club that has turned out some fantastic versions of popular tunes from Rihanna to Jordin Sparks to Journey will be getting the Madonna treatment soon. The singer has signed off on her music to be used in an upcoming episode. Even Madonna knows when to cash in on a trend.

5. Michael Jackson's final stand.
This Is It — the documentary that's giving fans a final glimpse of the King of Pop as he prepared for his comeback tour — was released October 28 in 99 countries then expanded to 110 territories that weekend. The film will only be in theatres for two weeks. This Is It was developed out of 100 hours of footage of Jackson creating his new show and gave fans an in-depth look at the man behind the memorable performances. Industry analysts predict the film will make about $100-million in its two-week run.

Taylor Swift6. Taylor-squared out and about.
Two of the most wholesome of Taylors — Swift and Lautner - were spotted at an L.A. hockey game together. Of course this needs to be mentioned as New Moon's release date is approaching faster than you can say Twi-hard. The two were last spotted sucking face on set of Valentine's Day in which they play high school sweethearts. Are they actually dating? Who cares! Just getting a picture of those two out together is gossip gold.

7. Katy Perry gets Brand-ed.
Singer Katy Perry's got herself a boyfriend — sorry lads. The lucky guy is comedian, and former sex addict, Russell Brand who was last seen hosting this year's wild MTV Video Music Awards. At her recent Wonka-themed 25th birthday party, Brand was seen with his arm around Mr. Perry's shoulder so it looks like this funnyman is in good with the family.

8. Rihanna's newest single gets dangerous.
Rihanna's long-awaited new single, Russian Roulette, was recently released to mixed reviews from people who say the song is too dark and too violent-sounding. Critics are wary of its suicide-tinged lyrics but others say it's just a song. It will be interesting to hear the rest of Rihanna's new sound when her album R-Rated drops November 23.

9. Canadian filmmaker denounces scientology.
Oscar-winner Paul Haggis, from London, has been the latest celebrity to quit scientology after being a part of the church for 35 years. Known as the screenwriter for both Million Dollar Baby and Crash, Haggis spoke out against scientology's support of Proposition 8, which would ban gay marriage in California. The letter to the church's official spokesperson, Tommy Davis, was written two months ago — but has now become viral. We're sure Tom Cruise is preparing some kind of positive PR for this.

10. Miley Cyrus quits Twitter.
The shock! The dismay! She took to her Twitter account to let the world know she'd be leaving Twitterverse — frustrated that the tabloids kept using her tweets as fuel for stories. Some celebrities have come out to voice their support for her decision — however, we like John Mayer's response the best. While he was understanding of why she chose to quit, saying she's young and needs to protect her privacy, when it came to talking about his own account, he said, “I would rather tell the world to eat my asshole before I would delete my Twitter account.”
