This week I sat down with rookie Point Guard Will Bradbury for a Q & A.

Will BradburyQ. What would you describe as your strengths on the court?
A. I would describe my strevngths on defence and my leadership skills.

Q. What would you say your weaknesses are?
A. Well first off I am a rookie so I have a lot of learning to do, second would be my shot selections. I need to take precise shots and not rush the ball.

Q. This year the team is full of rookies and in your opinion what role do you feel you have on the team?
A. I feel that I need to step up to the plate and produce. I like to call myself a ‘off the bench scorer.' The coach likes to pull me off the bench and make me go out and produce points. Another role I feel is being encouraging to all the other players. It plays a big part in critical times.

Q. Obviously a championship defines success, in your own words how would you define success?
A. Success to me is being the best and being focused and dedicated to yourself and more important, the team.

Q. What is your pregame ritual?
A. I have a list of songs I listen to before every game than once there is four minutes left I play Big Dreams by The Game. I find it puts me in my zone.

Q. Why did you choose Fanshawe?
A. I graduated high school in the year of 2007 and took a year off to look at my options. I was confronted by many universities but chose Fanshawe from the positive feedback and good rep of the men's basketball team as well as a close childhood friend (Jordon Dixon) I grew up with was playing on the team as well.

Q. What program are you taking and what are your intentions after it?
A. I am taking business marketing (first year) and I hope to become a police officer or even better play professional European basketball. Always been a dream.

Q. What keeps you motivated on the court?
A. I have this saying that my dad always said “Practice with purpose, play with passion.” I actually have it written on my shoes so I can always look at it during a game.

Q. Who is your model and why?
A. Well from a basketball point of view has to be my all time favourite Steve Nash. He's a true Canadian and I love his style and I think he's a great overall guy. On a personal level I would say my mom, without her I wouldn't be where I am at today. She's always been there for me day in and day out.

Q. Last question, what are your expectations for the team/season this year?
A. I feel that the whole team is focused on the provincials and we all want to make it to the nationals together. I have high hopes and like to dream big for this season.
