Local Business Profile: Backstage a gem of a Masonville store
If you are looking for a unique shopping experience then Backstage in Masonville Place is one store you should check out on your next foray to the mall.
While Backstage has a strong reputation as the place to acquire hard to find t-shirts, there is more to it than that. And with so many stores out there offering clothing, tees and hats it can sometimes be hard to find one that offers that and a bit more, and especially in a local London-run operation.
“We're more than just a t-shirt store,” emphasized Backstage owner David Fuller.
When Fuller started out 13 years ago the store only offered music t-shirts, but their inventory has expanded significantly over the years to include superhero tees, and street wear from brands such as Bench and California's LRG., and the forever popular Chuck Taylor Converse all star shoes.
The store's clientele is generally post-secondary students and teens, but has something for everyone including a great selection of t-shirts featuring more than 220 rock bands which Fuller said is one of the stores greatest appeals. If you are looking for things other than t-shirts and street wear you can then also check out their great selection of movie and music posters.
According to Fuller there is one thing that makes the store stand out from its competitors.
“It's our wide selection. You find some rock stores around the town but they won't have as many bands or as many sizes. We try and do small, medium, large and extra large in every band we have.”
Fuller added Backstage will do special requests, like if you want a shirt they don't have in stock they will order it in for you and have it in within a week.
