John Coney is the cross country head coach.

1. What first attracted you to running?
The individual nature of the sport, competing against yourself.

2. What has been your greatest moment as cross country head coach?
Making it to CCAA (Canadian Colleges Athletic Association) Nationals this weekend in Peterborough.

3. How did you feel about your over silver result at Nationals?
It was the initial goal of the team to do well at Nationals and we have done that.

4. What has been your team's inspiration this year?
Inner-squad rivalry, constantly trying to outperform one another for a spot on the team each week.

5. What animal do you think would make a good athlete?
A deer, because they are swift and very quick.

6. When did your team start training this year?
Many of our runners have been training extensively since last year. One of our runners trained with a triathlon club in Edmonton during his summer.

7. What does your team get out of running?
The team atmosphere, coming together as one squad. But most importantly, having fun.

8. What was the toughest terrain your team faced this year?
The Nationals advantage course in Peterborough course, along with a course in Ancaster which had a tough hill at the finish.

9. What muscle hurts the most at the end of the race?
Your heart and lungs, because you have just exerted all of your energy.
