Men's and women's volleyball seasons down to wire

This season the Fanshawe women's volleyball team have proven that a bunch of first year players mixed in with a few veterans can indeed make a phenomenal volleyball team.

The fourth place West division Falcons are charging towards the final playoff spot currently shared with Niagara as of press time. The top four teams from each division will continue on to playoffs. Niagara and Fanshawe both own 11-7 records. The tight positioning makes the Falcons final two games crucial.

The women, it seems, have been playing inconsistently much like the men's team. The men are in danger of not making playoffs and it looks like it will be coming down to the final game for both teams against Mohawk.

“Mohawk has beaten us in the playoffs the past two years that I've coached,” said men's team coach Josh Westgate. “This is a completely different year, I'm sure the men have something to prove.”

If either team is fortunate enough to make the playoffs, the men will travel to are Redeemer College in Ancaster, while the women would travel to Cambrian College in Sudbury.
