Could you pull off a blue do?
On March 19, the Make-A-Wish-Foundation of Canada is holding its annual Go Blue Go Bald campaign in Fanshawe's Forwell Hall.
“Participants sign up and raise donations for the organization. If they want to, we encourage them to GO BLUE by dying their hair...this in turn helps to raise awareness and also raise more donations,” said Lisa Mastronardi, a corporate communications and public relations student and organizer for the Go Blue Go Bald event.
Dying your locks is not necessarily a requirement and participants can choose to simply raise donations or even just “clip in a strip of blue hair,” mentioned Mastronardi. Or you can even go bald for the cause.
The Go Blue Go Bald event is a fourth year initiative to help raise money for critically ill children all across Canada and help make a difference in their lives as well as their families.
Jackie, a first year general arts and science student will absolutely be involved as she believes this to be a great event for a great cause, she wrote in a brief email.
Fringe hair salon will be on site providing all necessary assistance to make this event a memorable one.
There are already several participants signed up for the event, said Mastronardi.
She'll have a booth set up in Forwell Hall for anyone wishing to help donate for this wonderful cause during the days leading up to the final event.
She, along with some of her friends, will be the ones wearing blue streaks in their hair for easy identification and support.
