Last week, I took a look at the first half of round one of the upcoming NFL draft. With just under two weeks to go until the St. Louis Rams are on the clock, I will take a look at picks 17-32 today. Note: for those Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers fans out there, I am not leaving your team out; they were foolish and traded their first rounders away in last year's draft.

17. San Francisco 49ers — Joe Haden, CB, Florida — By selecting Earl Thomas at 13, and now Haden at 17, the 49ers have their secondary built for a long time. Haden disappointed at the Combine, but worked hard and improved at his Pro Day.

18. Pittsburgh Steelers — Mike Iupati, OG, Iowa — The Steelers offensive line isn't very good, but it gets a lot better with Iupati. He is a mauler, and will add aggressiveness and tenacity to the line.

19. Atlanta Falcons — Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida — Other ends will still be on the board, but Dunlap's upside will show in Atlanta. This is your typical riskreward pick, as Dunlap's character is in question.

20. Houston Texans — Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee — Despite glaring needs at running back and cornerback, the Texans jump on Williams. Paired with the emerging Amobi Okoye, Williams can be a real force.

Ryan Matthews21. Cincinnati Bengals — Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma — The Bengals passing game has been up and down, mainly because they need a pass-catching tight end. Gresham will help rejuvenate quarterback Carson Palmer's career.

22. New England Patriots — Everson Griffen, DE, USC — After trading away Richard Seymour last year, the Pats are in need of some elite defensive ends. Griffen projects at both end and outside linebacker, which gives him the versatility that coach Bill Belichick craves.

23. Green Bay Packers — Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers — Passing on other needs, the Packers grab the falling Davis. Both of their starting tackles are getting up in years, so Davis could start right away.

24. Philadelphia Eagles — Taylor Mays, S, USC — The Eagles may try to trade down here with all the good defensive ends off the board. However, Mays would give them a great talent at safety, to help their stellar cornerbacks do their jobs.

25. Baltimore Ravens - Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise St. — With aging players all through the secondary, the Ravens snatch Wilson to slow the bleeding. He has great skills but must prove he can hack it with better competition.

26. Arizona Cardinals - Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland — Campbell had a stellar Combine, and will likely start right away. Campbell will give the Cards a great tandem with former first round pick Levi Brown.

27. Dallas Cowboys — Nate Allen, S, South Florida — The Cowboys will likely try to trade up and get either Mays or Thomas, but if need be, they can take Allen. His tackling skills are in question, but he should be a solid starter.

28. San Diego Chargers — Ryan Mathews, RB, Fresno St — They try to move on from LaDainian Tomlinson by taking the beefy Mathews. Should form a good tandem with the shifty Darren Sproles.

29. New York Jets — Brandon Graham, OLB/DE, Michigan — After trading for Santonio Holmes, the Jets address their next biggest need. Their pass rush has been average the last couple years.

30. Minnesota Vikings — Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers — With all of the good first round safeties off the board, the Vikes must choose between McCourty and a defensive tackle. They take McCourty here, and worry about the defensive tackle later.

31. Indianapolis Colts - Vladimir Ducasse, OT, Massachusetts — The versatile Ducasse projects at either guard or tackle, which greatly helps his draft stock.

32. New Orleans Saints - Jared Odrick, DE, Penn St. — Odrick is another versatile player, and should start at DT right away for the defending champs.

There you have it folks, it's been a fun year of football, and I hope this year's NFL Draft is as exciting and unpredictable as usual.
