Final SAC Meeting

It was an emotional night on Monday, April 16 2007, as SAC members looked back on a great year and said their goodbyes. The final SAC meeting was a short one, but it was business as usual, combined with a bit of reflection and fun.

Four SAC awards and one executive award were given out. James Millistver received the “Involvement” award, Mark Loader received the “ACE” award, (for Attitude, Cooperation and Effort), Melissa Watkins received the “Out of the Dark” award, and Jason Wilton received the “SAC of the Year” award.

J.P. Renzella, who served as VP of Internal Affairs, received the “Executive of the Year” award.

Some of next year's Executives were present at the meeting to observe, and it was an excellent opportunity to meet the newest members of the FSU.

All SAC and Executive members voted on the proposed amendments to the constitution, and all were carried. The amendments to the budget that were proposed during the last meeting were also voted on, and all were approved.

The SAC and Executive members had to go “in camera” to discuss salaries, at which point all observers left the room for a brief period of time.

The final SAC meeting wrapped up with a slide show that Christine Thompson and Rubelyn Ubando had prepared for everyone. It was an excellent and humorous compilation of pictures of all of the SAC and Executive members at various events over the school year.

After the slide show, the members had to motion to dissolve the SAC for the 2006-2007 school year, which was emotional for everyone.

It has been an excellent opportunity to be able to attend all of the SAC meetings this year, and I would like to thank Christine Thompson, all of the Executives and all of the SAC members for making me feel so welcome.
