What?! Canada a candidate to be a fascist state

Dear Editor,

The latest article by Darius Mirshahi in the September 27 issue of Interrobang (Canada a fascist state?) calls for all true Canadians to respond in a tone that his dirt throwing on Canada deserves and calls for.

How can an immigrant like me call his new home (it does not matter whether I was born here or not) a potential fascist state?

I immigrated to Canada from the former Czechoslovakia, which was run by communists at that time. I know very well what dictatorship feels like.

Mirshahi's parents may have well escaped their own fascist or communist country. By now, they may be Canadian citizens. I wonder whether they know what kind of leftist, anarchist propaganda their son preaches and publishes in Fanshawe student's newspaper? The Interrobang, it seems to me, will print anything that comes across the editor's desk.

Mirshahi's far left outbursts are like a red flag that is being waved in front of a bull. Does he wonder why he is not getting any responses back (positive or negative) from students or staff? Is the silent majority scared or indifferent to his hate outbursts dismissing everything that Canada offers?

Mirshahi complains about the Canadian government for building more prisons. Maybe the expanding prisons are a necessity to house all the criminals that are now roaming Canadian streets.

Omar Khadr, whom he lovingly calls a "child," is a member of a well known Toronto family that openly boasts about their personal relations with Osama bin Ladin. This so called "child" threw a hand grenade on an American soldier, killing him. In my opinion, let this "child" Khadr rot in U.S. jail. Canadian taxpayers should not be paying jail expenses for him.

I have followed for quite some time the escapades of Mirshahi. His support of blackhooded masked gangs protesting this past summer's G20. Maybe he was there too, jumping on police cruisers roofs and then setting them on fire. Recently, he was one of those graffiti artists producing their art on city of London utility boxes.

Only Mirshahi sees Canada "sliding down a slippery slope towards fascism." I suggest that he packs up his suitcase and goes back to whatever country he came from. He for sure does not want to reside in "fascist" Canada.
