Emma Newman is in her first year of music industry arts. She said, "I love music, my friends and family, the Out Back Shack, and my cat. Not necessarily in that order."

1. Why are you here?
Music and entertainment is the only thing I've ever wanted to be involved in, and taking MIA at Fanshawe is the greatest decision I've ever made.

2. What was your life-changing moment?
I moved home halfway through my third year at Western, and realized that I couldn't continue to waste time on something I didn't love.

3. What music are you currently listening to?
I'm obsessed with the new Britney Spears song, and I listen to Florence and the Machine constantly.

4. What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?
"Don't spend all your money on beer." It sounds ridiculous, but my money disappears a lot faster when I'm drinking beer than when I'm drinking water. I can't imagine why. That advice is what helps me remember to budget, so I can afford other things!

5. Who is your role model?
Lady Gaga. She is absolutely insane, talented and a total genius.

6. Where in the world have you traveled?
I've been through most of Eastern Canada, Florida and South Carolina, Mexico and England.

7. What was your first job?
I bagged groceries when I was 15. I was called a "parceller," which was pretty great.

8. What would your last meal be?
Fajitas. Hands down, fajitas. With cheesecake for dessert.

9. What makes you uneasy?
Sharks, snakes, and needles.

10. What is your passion?
Music. Everything I do is music, everything I think is music. My iPod is my best friend.
