When you combine a wide range of influences, such as Frank Sinatra, Ramstein, Michael Jackson, Thornley and Big Wreck, you may be knocked off your feet with a local London band called After The Lounge.

This gritty, dynamic foursome have been featured on FM 96's Indie Show with Andrea Dunn, the credited host with the Corus Network station, and are performing at The World of Motorcycle Expo at the Agri-Plex February 11, 12 and 13 at the Western Fairgrounds. On March 4, they are headlining Hardcore Tattoo Appreciation Night in St. Thomas, and then heading back to London on March 18 to perform at the London Knights hockey game in between periods at the John Labatt Centre.

With Scott Bollert as lead vocalist, Carlos Latorre on drums, Jeff Kougar on guitar, and Sean Smith on bass, you get a fierce sound that rivals larger rock bands (Danko Jones, Buckcherry), but with a homegrown feeling of small-town, bad-boy charm. Their sound is aggressive yet simple; their music dark but with playful undertones; and their idea of a good night on the town contagious with good intentions.

Lock up your daughters. These boys are fun, infectious and working hard to make sure you have a great time.

Bollert described the band's latest album, Lights Go Out, as "touching on metal and on the edge of popular rock." The name of the band "pays homage to a name of a song I wrote years ago about partying after the bar and thinking that it would be a great name for a band," he said.

All four members of After The Lounge put a tremendous amount of time crafting Lights Go Out, and are looking forward to show listeners that they are prepared to give it their all. The nine-song album features a combination of slower melodies (Stay Right Here) and lively, rocking tunes (Rock N Roll To The Next City). Their title track, Lights Go Out, is especially powerful and catchy — the kind of song that sticks and gets you feet moving.
