Advanced Filmmaking student by day, rip-roarin' ATV racer by weekend, 21-year-old Mark Freeman is a man of many talents and interests.

"I've been riding pretty much since I could walk," he remembered. Growing up on a farm north of London in Mitchell and riding dirt bikes since he was young, Freeman started racing when he was 12 years old. At 15, he switched to quads (all-terrain vehicles).

"I really didn't play sports or anything. I had a dirt bike, so I rode that around the farm. I wanted to do the whole motocross racing thing. I tried it out and it turned out I was pretty good at it."

Now a professional motocross racer, Freeman has gathered quite a following on Facebook and YouTube. Fans flock to watch videos of his races and antics with friends.

There are many great things about being immersed in the world of motocross racing, but one stands out in Freeman's mind. "The best part is probably just traveling all over Ontario and the States and meeting all the different people. It's like a whole other family I have in the motocross world."

Though he loves riding, Freeman also has a passion for making films. After graduating from high school, Freeman headed out west to go to film school in Vancouver. He enjoyed his time there, but said he is glad to be at Fanshawe for AFM. "I love (the program). It's a lot more advanced than the Vancouver one was. I've learned a lot."
