Get (net)worked up at the Student-2-Business conference

The fifth annual Student-2- Business (S2B) Networking Conference is taking place at the London Convention Centre on January 26, and it just might help you find a job.

"It's a great opportunity for students to network with London business professionals," said Christina Cook, Customer Service Representative for Fanshawe's Career Services.

According to the event's website, S2B.ca, "S2B will connect you to company representatives and community connectors from all of London's industries, including advanced manufacturing, life sciences, information technology, digital media, media and communications, construction, business services and not-for-profit." No matter what kind of job you're searching for, S2B could help you on your way.

The day begins at 12:15 p.m., when busses start shuttling students from Fanshawe and the University of Western Ontario to the event at the London Convention Centre. Throughout the day there will be forums, a presentation from the London Economic Development Corporation, workshops on recruitment and networking, meet-andgreets with industry professionals and more. A keynote address from Amy Casson of Polished Image will help you put your best face forward and stand out from the crowd in networking situations. Check the S2B website for a full schedule of the day.

"It's a great event that students don't want to miss," added Cook. "It's definitely preparing them to get out there and network and find a job in a challenging economy."

Student admission to the S2B event is $10. Register online as soon as possible — space is limited.
