24-hour online Mario marathon for charity
The Mario marathon is an online
charity event hosted by Fanshawe
students. The goal is to gain positive
awareness for the student body
by streaming a video game
marathon on the Internet and gaining
donations in the process
through a PayPal donation box,
ultimately raising money for the
Canadian Cancer Society. The
marathon team and I are very
excited to be gaming for such a
great cause.
The events that took place on Fleming Drive on St. Patrick's Day were obscene. Only a very small percentage of the Fanshawe student body was involved, so it is quite unreasonable to say it was primarily a Fanshawe-related incident. As Fanshawe students, we are appalled at the events that transpired. We want to make it very clear that this is not an example of student behaviour.
You can find out more about the event and the charity at our Facebook page: facebook.com/fanshawecollege2012videogamemarathon.
