Dallas Smith becomes "The Song That's in My Head"

It was a sold out show with plaid shirts, jeans shorts, and cowboy boots filling Fanshawe’s J-Gym.

The crowds filed in, shuffling as close to the stage as the barrier would let them, all eyes focused forward, hoping time would move fast and the show would begin.

Suddenly, two young men walked on the stage and the crowd went wild. Petric, two brothers and two guitars was all it took to pump up the crowd.

With a few originals, including their hit single “Here Goes Everything” and some mainstream Top 40s, such as “Billy Jean” and “Just the Way You Are”, Petric had everyone in the crowd singing.

“This is the first time that Tom and I get to try our songs acoustically, it is very new and exciting for us,” said Jason Petric in an interview before the show. “We are performing ‘Here Goes Everything’ and our new single ‘It Girl’ so we are giving [Fanshawe] everything we have right now.”

Once Petric left the stage, the tension was high in the gym, everyone was singing to whatever the speakers played in anticipation for Smith.

Then, the lights dimmed, spotlights focused on the stage, the smoke machines began to blast and the instruments started playing the opening tune to “Jumped Right In”, and that is exactly what Smith did.

From the moment he started to the moment he finished with his hit “Tippin’ Point”, the crowd could not get enough.

Dallas engaged the crowd even more than just high fiving the front row fans by walking across the stage, grabbing different fans’ phones and taking a selfie with them.

It was a night to remember and a perfect way to burn off steam from the first week of classes.

“Get ready to rock and roll… you’re in for one good night,” Petric said before the show, something that they proved to be correct just a few hours later.
