Around the Ring: Benoit takes belt from Kennedy

I don't know if it's just me getting into fall TV fever or if the WWE is, but the last two weeks (minus the last Smackdown PPV) has been excellent for wrestling (and that includes TNA, too).

Smackdown's program saw Chris Benoit show up and take the belt from Mr. “Crappy” Kennedy. I'm happy that the belt is off of him but I do like how Kennedy started his “I want to go to RAW” rant. He could run his mouth off about a particular Raw Superstar only to have that person beat the crap out of him at the Survivor Series or even Cyber Sunday.

Speaking of Cyber Sunday, as of the time of writing this, there are now two stipulations that you can vote on. Firstly, you can vote on which WWE Brand's title belt will be on the line during the Champion of Champions match. I'm going with the WWE belt that Cena is holding because I think it's the most legit belt and I also think that Cena is going to walk out of this one as the winner anyway.

Secondly, you can vote on who is going to be the special guest ref during the DX/Orton and Edge tag match. You can either vote for The Coach, Mr. McMahon or Eric Bischoff. Seeing how McMahon is trying to further himself away from the DX angle, I don't see him being the ref and no one really cares about the Coach. With Bischoff, we've had two OBVIOUS spots on TV comparing DX to the NWO and with Bischoff's book now out and the supposed Survivor Series poster that got leaked that features the DX spray paint logo covering the NWO's logo, I think we may know who the ref will be.

Raw was actually pretty damn entertaining this week. The four-way match for the IC belt was killer, non-stop action! Shelton Benjamin showed once again that he is indeed the future of the WWE while Hardy wowed the crowd just as much with his high-flying antics. Masters looked pretty good, too, while Super Crazy was the perfect addition to the match. I hope we see another one like this soon because the IC belt division could heat up.

On that note, Cryme Time made their debut against the Spirit Squad and they were impressive. CT, the Highlanders, and smaller Spirit Squad (with a new name, hopefully, with the imminent departure of Kenny), Kade and Murdoch and others may actually revive the tag team division.

TNA is heating up going into prime time in November and with their Bound For Glory PPV that's airing this Sunday (or last Sunday when you read this) on PPV. I will definitely be getting this one so stay tuned next week to hear my reaction and how Kurt Angle made his presence felt during the show.
