DVD Review: Wondershowzen Season 2 as good as the first

Wondershowzen Season 2
I know that I touched base early on this year with a review of Wondershowzen's Season One DVD and gave it a “must see” review. Well, my prayers have been answered because Season Two has come out very quickly and is now available at most retailers for about $22.

To give you all a little heads-up if you didn't read my article about Season One, think of Wondershowzen like “Seasame Street” on crack.

Puppet hosts (and their segments) are intertwined with cartoons and other crazy pieces featuring young kids who have no clue what they are being asked to say to the camera. Some may call this child abuse in a sense, but I think it's hilarious and one of the craziest things I've ever seen. If you ever have seen the old show, “Kids Say the Funniest Things” (or whatever it was called), you'll be even more amazed (and shocked) to hear what comes out of their mouths.

This season of Wondershowzen brings you on a magical journey where you can learn about Science, the Body and Co-Operation! To tell you the truth, the only thing you'll learn from this show is how to laugh so hard that you cry and can't breathe.

My favourite part of the show featuring Clarence, the blue puppet, returns with even more of an edge. Clarence walks around the street asking people the question of the day, which turns out to piss-off most of the people. Fists get thrown at the puppet and he's yelled at with more vulgarity than ever. It's so funny to see people get so frustrated and angry at a puppet. Clarence fans will be happy to know that there's a whole episode this time around dedicated to his antics, as well as numerous outtakes in the bonus features section.

I have to say that although these episodes are raunchier than the first season, there's an episode entitled “Horse Apples” which parodies the old “Hee Haw” TV show from the 80s and it's just horrible. The humor just isn't there and it gets old after about two minutes…from there you may have to sit through 20 more minutes of it. I chose to speak with my remote and shut this episode off five minutes into it. Avoid at all costs!

If you go on youtube.com or type in Wondershowzen into Google, you'll easily be able to find clips of this show and make the decision to go out and purchase this.

This set gets a four out of five from me. There's a lot of replay value with a show like this although it's only seven 22 minute episodes long. Go to http://www.wonder-showzen.com/ or http://www.mtv2.com/#wondershowzen/ for videos and more!
