Chinese man insists second wife to look like first

Xing Pooyang's second wife is about to have a serious identity crisis. The 32-year-old Pooyang, from the Chinese city of Cheech & Chong, has convinced his new supermodel wife to undergo plastic surgery in order to make her look like his first wife, who died in a car crash three years ago.

Even though Pooyang says, “I wish I could have died with her,” he finally remarried Methinee Kingpayome six months ago because his overbearing parents made him feel guilty and pressured him to tie the knot again. He chose his new bride because she looks like his first wife, Sayuki Matsumoto, and he hopes “to have a chance to make up for my mistakes, like finally being able to consummate the marriage and have a child.”

Kingpayome finally caved in to her hubby's requests out of respect for his family, but says she hopes she won't be ugly after all is said and sliced up. One of the doctors involved in the procedure said the couple must go to counseling before she goes under the knife, especially since Pooyang has requested that Kingpayome have her face scarred just like his first wife did after the accident that ended her life.

Meanwhile, Chinese talk radio has been flooded with callers voicing their concerns.

“Come on, lady, divorce the guy!”, chimed one caller named Ming. “You're his new wife, not the woman cast to play his first wife in a made-for-state-TV movie. He should've married Cher. She enjoys plastic surgery.”

Another caller suggested that Pooyang get surgery to look like Jet Li.
