Fun and Fitness: Getting back on track post-spring break

Welcome back Fanshawe! Many of you guys are returning from sunny southern vacations. Unfortunately, many of you are now sad having returned to the cold north and into the grind of school once again. Look at the bright side; your skin is darker, your teeth look whiter and the school year is coming to an end. To top it off, plenty of you are still rockin' those newly improved physiques you worked so hard for. Sure, some of you packed on a few pounds thanks to the all-inclusive cocktails, but let's face it, it would have been a crime not to considering you're college kids on spring break. Now it's a matter of whether or not you can get back on track.

You guys know exactly what I'm talking about — the hard work and discipline you put into your eating habits and gym routine. The cardio you dreaded, but did for the chance to take off your shirts in confidence. The ‘fake n bake' tanning minutes you purchased to help exaggerate your ripped physiques. A lot of this motivation stemmed from the fact that you all had to hit the beaches. Well, spring break may be over, but the drive to continue what you've started should be far from done.

It's only natural that after several months of hard training, you may tone it down a notch. Your training and eating habits will slip here and there and it's nothing to feel guilty about. Even the best of the best have to cheat sometimes. Falling behind a few steps is nothing to sweat about. We all fall from the nest from time to time, but how far you let yourself fall before flapping your wings is entirely up to you.

Why all the cliché sounding stuff you might ask? Think of it this way. Let's say for argument sake that you all spent roughly a grand to vacate last week. Within a few months, the southern sunshine will be coming to you're homeland of Ontario, free of charge. Take this opportunity to build upon the successes you've achieved over the last few months preparing for that spring get away. Summer time is just around the corner and your beach weather is going to be extended from one week to two months.
