A little competition never hurt anyone, and this summer Fanshawe's Athletic Department has you covered with all the intramurals you need to keep you in shape, keep you social and keep you in the game.

The first intramural of the season is the ever-competitive indoor ball hockey. Entry deadline is Friday, May 18 and all action begins and ends in J-gym.

Next up on the intramural-roster will take place on the field with a tournament-style co-ed three-pitch softball. The Athletics Department has all the gear you need to play including gloves, bats and umpires, not to mention two-well kept baseball fields across the street from the Student Centre. Get a team of at least nine men and women together to enter by Friday, May 25.

One of the most popular intramurals during the regular school year is the three-on-three co-ed basketball and it's back tourney-style for the summer. The game is going outside for the summer in the courts outside R-Residence and there is a minimum entrance of four teams. The tourney will take place over two-weeks and scheduling of the games will be worked around student timetables. Each basketball team requires at least one female and one male in order to sign-up. Make sure you meet the entry deadline of Monday, July 9 at the Athletic department.

Summer Intramurals are also looking for part-time employees to referee, umpire and score-keep games. All interested applicants should inquire at J-1034 or for more information visit www.fanshawec.ca/athletics

Don't forget that all these intramurals are free for students and staff to join. The Athletic Department also has ping-pong tables and two gyms equipped with volleyball and badminton nets, basketballs and ball hockey gear.
