Get carving in the Oasis
The FSU has moved the location this year for their annual Halloween Pumpkin carving contest-taking place on Wednesday, October 31, from Forwell Hall to the Oasis.
This is a traditional event that has seen upwards of 10 teams in the past compete for $200 in prize money.
The rules are simple, minimum teams of two full-time students, they are given a table, pumpkin and cutting utensils and they have 45 minutes to create the best-carved pumpkin.
We will have three judges on hand to view the results and award the prizes. It is that easy. The contest takes place on Halloween, Wednesday, October 31, at noon in the Oasis. Teams must sign up between 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. on the stage area in the Oasis. No registration fee, but must have valid student card to enter, limited this year to the first 10 teams.
Prize money is simple:
First place - $100
Second place - $60
Third place - $40 cash...the pumpkins are the property of the FSU and will be on display that day in the Oasis and later that night at the entrance and in Forwell Hall during our annual Halloween Party.
Good luck to all and may the great pumpkin inspire your carvings.
