Around the Ring: TNA delivers interesting PPV

TNA's PPV last Sunday actually wasn't too bad. I got to see it a little late, but it delivered in a couple of ways. First, the Abyss/Black Reign match was fun. There were many good, violent spots but the icing on the cake was when Abyss choke slammed Reign to the concrete floor from the riser. Good stuff.

I think that it's neat that the Motor City Machine Guns beat Team 3D because it'll keep the feud going for another month. It was an entertaining match and I'm sure the next one will have some sort of stipulation.

Kevin Nash looked horrible and clumsy in the ring. Can you believe that this man can still balance himself? Sting worked his magic with Angle, as usual, but the cool thing about this match was the debut of BOOKER T in TNA. Yes, just like many of you, I hated the King Booker character. Just let the man talk shit and wrestle! No fake accents, no annoying wife and no stupid crown! Let's hope TNAngle does something productive with Booker while PUSHING the midcarders and X Division at the same time. Only then will they attract more people and compete with WWE's sub-par writing and (excuse any pun) booking.

Raw was OK this week. I mean, it was the usual Raw before a PPV edition. I have no clue why they gave us the Hardys and Mysterio vs. Kennedy, MVP and Finley as well as HHH vs. Umaga (with the same guys as lumberjacks) when we're going to be seeing all these guys square off at the Survivor Series. They want us fans to pay $40 to almost see the same thing? HA! Thank goodness I won't be paying full price.

The whole Hornswaggle training segment had me scratching my head and dreading this Sunday's match (or last Sunday's by the time people read this) even more. Man, I hate filler.

I'll be so surprised if any titles actually change during the Survivor Series. Batista losing it so soon still doesn't make sense, especially with his win over the Undertaker last month and HBK won't be taking Randy Orton down this fast.

Can anyone tell me why Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes are the number one contenders for the tag titles? BORING!

Edge has been teased as being a part of the Survivor Series. I think that if he shows up, he'll be throwing his interference at the Undertaker/Batista match.

Oh, by the time most of you read this, you'll be glad to see Y2J, Chris Jericho back on Raw.
