Around the Ring: Handicapping TNA

Let's take a quick look first at this Sunday's TNA Destination X PPV (at least what has been officially announced as of the time of writing this):

Awesome Kong (c) vs. Gail Kim vs. ODB for the Woman's Title - I really like TNA's women's division and seeing how both ODB and Kim have had great matches against Kong, I think this one will top them all. I have a feeling that these ladies are going to put together a match that will stand out against most of the men's matches. I'm going to say that Kong will retain setting up the feud between ODB and Gail Kim further.

Booker T vs. Robert Roode (stipulation still to be announced) - I called it last month when I said the “match” was going to be a brawl and that's exactly what it was. I think that Sharmel will make a return and give Booker T the advantage to pick up the win and move on to another feud.

Black Machismo (c) vs. “Maple Leaf Muscle” Petey Williams for the X Division Title - Two amazing competitors will give us the match of the night here. I have a sneaking suspicion that Big Papa Pump will interfere and cause Lethal the match. I hope this is a clean win for Petey, but his alliance with Steiner and increased TV time tell me its time for a change in the X Division. I hope I'm wrong.

“The War Machine” Rhino vs. “The Cowboy” James Storm (Elevation X match) - I'm wondering why Rhino comes back and TNA throws this old angle back at us. I'm also wondering why two heavyweights are going at it in an X-Division style match. Rhino is tough and will take some nasty bumps and shots in this match. Suffice to say, with Rhino just coming back to the ring, there's no way he's going to lose this one.

Samoa Joe, Christian Cage & Kevin Nash vs. The Angle Alliance - This match makes no sense. This match should actually be on a broadcast of “Impact” and not headlining a PPV. We know that Samoa Joe is facing Angle next month for the belt, so what does this match prove? I'll tell you: it means we have to watch these six fight with each other over and over again during the next month. Please, let's get something fresh!

On the WWE side of things, I have to say that it's quite interesting that WWE.com has actually posted a news section that has results, news and rumours about the industry. Yep, at the WWE's official site, you can read TNA and ROH news!

Once again, nothing happened on Smackdown except Batista stepping up to the challenge to face Umaga. I don't mind Batista at all, but I hope Umaga wrecks him and gets set up for another great heel push.

On Raw, nothing was outstanding at all! With three weeks to go Mayweather is cutting promos that are going to turn him heel before he knows it. Isn't this guy horrible on the mic?

If you thought that WWE dropping the JBL/Y2J angle was quick, what about the promo between Finley, McMahon and JBL? Nothing was really answered. Finley admitted that he was lil' Horney's father, but that's about it. What about the conspiracy? Who asked Finley to help? Let's hope more of this gets revealed before the big PPV.
