Advisory: Canadians warned not to travel to Mexico

The Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxime Bernier, is warning Canadians to avoid travel to Mexico due to a recent rash of Canadian tourist deaths and detentions.

Bernier, speaking to the media from a five star vacation resort in Aruba while on a fact finding mission to check the safety of Aruba for traveling Canadians, said “that Mexico has become a place that Canadians are not welcome.”

Trying to determine why Mexicans are mad at Canadians has proven problematic. Issues with migrant Mexican workers coming to Canada and working farm fields for far more wages than they would earn in Mexico may upset those Mexicans that continue to live below the poverty line back in Mexico, and see Canadians as contributing to the wealth of some of their comrades, but not them.

However, a “W5” report originating from Cancun points in a different direction for Mexicans recent loathing of Canadians. A Canadian journalist, posing as an American journalist took, to Cancun streets and beaches to find out why the locals were having problems with Canadians.

“Look at that gringo lying on the beach polluting the environment as he lays there naked,” said Pedro Sanchez, a local Cancunite. “It is an insult to all Mexicans that he soils our soil. And what's with the double sombrero, especially the one on his lower body?”

Sanchez revealed that Mexicans have become tired of Canadians and there insulting ways.

“They are loud gringos. They drink too much and party to all hours and then sleep all day and start over again,” said Sanchez. “At least with Americans, they can't hold their liquor and they just pass out at night and end up sleeping half the day as well. But Canadians, they want to party all night like it's a fiesta on a Tuesday and then start it all over the next day.”
