Man stabbed on Thurman

London police respond to two stabbings in one night

An out of control house party left a 19-year-old man nursing a stab wound last month just across the street from Fanshawe College on Thurman Circle.

Just before 2 am on Saturday, May 31 the stabbing was reported to police, which according to officials, was a result of an altercation after some unwanted guests of the house party were told to leave.

“A physical altercation ensued involving several individuals and the victim was subsequently stabbed,” officials reported. The victim suffered a stab wound to the torso and other non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by paramedics.

Thurman Circle, located north east of Fanshawe College, is populated mostly by Fanshawe students and has in recent years, along with Fleming Drive, become infamous for out-of-control parties.

A similar stabbing, although unrelated, occurred in the downtown core earlier that same evening around 11 pm on May 30 in the Grand Avenue and Carfrae Crescent area.

A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his torso and underwent surgery.

James Cameron Willits was taken into custody soon after the stabbing and made a court appearance earlier in the month.

Police said investigation is continuing in both stabbings.
