The Perfect Party

Does such a thing exist? The London Police Service (LPS) believes it to be true. Last year, more than just a few shindigs surrounding Fanshawe College (student occupied homes) were broken up after complaints of noise, vandalism and violence made it to the ears of local law enforcement.

In collaboration with the college and its community, London Police have consequently decided to enforce a blitz that would target students participating in any illegal alcohol/drug related behavior.

This blitz, officially known as Project L.E.A.R.N. (Liquor Education and Reduction of Noise), is a service developed by the LPS in order to control rowdy behavior and create the safest atmosphere possible for students and families in our community.

Effectively beginning in the days leading up to the first week of classes, students need to understand what exactly the implications are of their actions. It is clear that the school is dead set on erasing the current “FUN-shawe” party image, after national media attention led to a number of employers expressing concerns about the quality of Fanshawe students last year.

So what is the perfect party? One in which you arrive home safely after.

Use this website as a guide if you are unsure about London’s alcohol related by-laws (and there are many). These laws are in place to ensure our safety. Get out there and embrace the college atmosphere, just not at anyone else’s expense.

Make no mistake, change is coming one way or another, but it is up to the individual to decide how that change will come to pass.
