Around the Ring: Wrestling's latest picks

Well, it's been two weeks since my column praising WWE on some excellent TV. It's too bad that after I wrote that, we've had two weeks of awful RAW and Smackdown bookings/shows.

Last week's RAW was boring but that's to be expected going into a PPV. The main thing that's selling “Unforgiven” is Chris Jericho vs. HBK in their “unsanctioned” match. These two better sell to make people feel that spending $40 on a PPV even three weeks after Summerslam (with Cyber Sunday coming sooner than you think). With the promos they've been having, I'm sure they will.

With mediocre (at best) TV shows over the past two weeks, I'll just briefly run down the card of “Unforgiven” and give my predictions.

World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase vs. Cryme Tyme
They haven't developed this feud enough for Cryme Tyme to come out with a win that's meaningful enough. Watch Rhodes and DiBiase cheat to win.

Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho
This will be the match of the night. I think HBK needs to take a break for a while and Jericho's heel heat is too good to give up (it will give him major strength going into a program with CM Punk). I think somehow Jericho will pick up the win for now and HBK will get his retribution some other time.

Michelle McCool vs. Maryse for the Divas Championship
Who cares about this? Let's say Maryse to actually make people care about someone chasing this belt.

ECW Championship Scramble Match
Does anyone care about this one either? I'm saying Mark Henry for the simple fact that WWE has to justify their one million a year contract for the big man.

Smackdown Championship Scramble Match
The only one I can see winning the belt from HHH is Jeff Hardy and because of Jeff's past mistakes, I don't see it happening yet. I say HHH retains.

RAW Championship Scramble Match
With Punk being called a transitional champion and this poor guy losing matches on Raw but for some reason turning around and winning matches when the odds are stacked against him, I'm going to say that the belt isn't coming off Punk at this PPV.
