Around the Ring: Good news as TNA impresses

Let's start off with a WTF moment: WWE has parted ways with Lance Cade! I can't believe this! Wasn't it only three weeks ago where Cade got the cover on HBK? Mind you, right after the PPV, HBK destroyed Cade in less than three minutes with numerous chair shots. I thought that a HBK/Cade feud would have been gold. Cade needed a little more work on the mic, but he was good in the ring and he was always one of those mid-lower card guys that I always thought had major potential. I think WWE made a mistake by letting him go, but with TNA's booking team not taking advantage of storylines and people on their roster, I don't think Cade would do any better there.

Speaking of TNA, Bound for Glory wasn't that bad of a PPV at all! Here are some quick-shot thoughts:

- The X Division match in the cage was good but it didn't have as many OMG spots as I would have liked. Is it just me or did Johnny Devine look like he was totally ripping off RVD's look?

- The Monster's Ball match was insane and worth buying the DVD for. Abyss' spot where Team 3D put him through a flaming table onto the pavement was just nuts! Props also go to Hernandez for going stomach first into a table covered in thumbtacks! Steve Mongo McMichael showed once again that's he's totally useless no matter what he's doing.

- The poor Knockouts didn't have the time or the ring time that they deserve (not to mention the quality of match that we're used to).

- Angle vs. Jarrett was actually pretty decent. I'm not a Jarrett fan but he did well for not being in the ring for two years. The ending which had Foley helping Jarrett against a cheating Angle was predictable but fun. Let's see where this feud goes next.

- Sting and Samoa Joe was solid. If you can, you have to see the career ending dropkick Joe gave Sting out in the crowd (down about eight-nine stairs and onto the concrete). In true TNA fashion, the belt couldn't change through a clean pin. Nash showed up and hit Joe with Sting's bat to help Sting win the belt. Stupid ending but pretty good match!

The second last Raw leading up to Cyber Sunday was pretty poorly booked with nothing really to hype the PPV. We KNOW Austin will be voted in as the special ref so there is nothing WWE can do to try and get people to care about HBK or Orton as potential refs. The show was unmemorable and pretty boring.

Note to WWE: constant weekly John Cena videos and the Jackass crew on your show does nothing for me (and from what I've been reading on the boards, many feel this way).
