Murray breaks record in shutout

On February 4, the Fanshawe Falcons shutout the Lambton Lions 3-0 in women's volleyball, while a record performance took place.

Falcons' own Heather Murray put on a sharpshooting clinic from the service line on Wednesday when she served a staggering 13 aces. Murray is now tied with Humber's Landis Doyle for most service aces in a single match (13).

Murray is currently ranked third provincially in total aces (52).

During the Lambton game, Murray scored a match high 13 points almost scoring more than Lambton's entire team (14).

Marleigh Zeigler contributed by playing a conscious and agile game with 15 digs, and Michelle Schinkel also lent a helping hand with nine points and a match high nine kills.

On February 10, the final game of the season took place against the St. Claire Saints. The Fanshawe Falcons lost 3-1 placing them fifth in the West with an even 10-10 record.

While Murray only served one ace, Zeigler played another conscious and agile game by racking up another 15 digs. Zeigler is currently ranked third in the West for digs with 185.

The Falcons lead scorer against the Saints was Shawna Chadbourn with seven points.
