Letter to the editor: Parking problems on campus

My car was stolen from Parking Lot Five at Fanshawe. There were also three cars, which had their windows smashed out and various items stolen.

At this time it came to my attention through speaking to many other students that there have been several car thefts and even more acts of vandalism on vehicles.

I know Fanshawe College is not responsible for items in our cars and I never keep anything of value in my car but my thought is that with how much we pay for parking it should be possible to put up a couple of video cameras or pay someone to walk around every hour or so.

At the very least a couple of video cameras and some signs announcing that the area is under video surveillance could help to deter these events.

Hopefully if enough students speak up something will be done. Who knows? It could be your car next.
