London Ontario native, and famed Xtreme Couture trainer Shawn Tompkins is moving from his post in Las Vegas.

Tompkins, the originator of the Hardknocks gym in London has been the head trainer in Sin City for the past couple of years. Since making the move to Vegas, he has gone on to train the likes of Randy Couture, Forrest Griffin and Vitor Belfort to impressive victories in their careers, but the move doesn't come as a huge surprise as one of the best striking coaches in the game isn't moving far.

Tompkins is set to join the TapouT gym just down the street in Vegas, where he's far enough out of the shadow of Couture to get his own recognition for his accomplishments as a top trainer.

The question remains now, who will follow Tompkins to this newly established TapouT gym?

There is a solid stable of fighters who have all had success under Tompkins tutelage and this move could tear some of them away from Xtreme Couture to stick with ‘The Coach' as their head trainer. This includes Gray Maynard, Tyson Griffin, Martin Kampmann plus the previously mentioned fighters. Not to forget Wanderlai Silva, whose dominant win over Keith Jardine came under training and cornering from Tompkins. Needless to say, Tompkins has been the source of many top fighters success thus far.

Since moving to Vegas, Tompkins original gym in London has expanded as well.

Adrenaline MMA Training Centre is the newest home for London's top fighters as they are approaching their one year anniversary at the end of October. Last year they upgraded their facilities moving more east down Dundas Street to a new location that is bigger. From this gym you have notable fighters such as Sam Stout, Mark Hominick and Chris Horodeski, who all spend time at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas when they are preparing for fights as well. It's also unsure at this point if they will be following their mentor to his newest gym as well.

There has been a lot of camaraderie in the past year, especially between London's Adrenaline Training Centre and Vegas' Xtreme Couture and it will be interesting to see if that continues now that Tompkins is no longer in the mix.
