Fanshawe Student Union in conjunction with the Fringe Theatre has joined forces for a memorable holiday experience.

On Friday December 4, the London Convention Centre is holding a special production of A Christmas Carol.

John D. Huston will play the memorable Charles Dickens himself in this one of a kind, one-person performance.

A Christmas Carol has been an all time favourite among audiences since the production began in 1853 as a charitable fundraiser.

The production was performed in a series of tours throughout the year until Dickens' death in 1870.

According to John b. Young, Building Manager at Fanshawe College, Huston is re-creating Dickens' performances by traveling the world to perform as a one man show for audiences worldwide.

The traditional three-hour production has been drastically cut down in time to a one-hour masterpiece that is enjoyed around the world today.

The present show will represent a transition between the two different versions of the original play. Huston will dramatically improvise the works of Dickens while standing behind a specially designed “reading desk” while playing all the roles including narration.

Huston is a member of the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan, where he has been privileged to enjoy a lively career pursuing theatrical acting.

As Dickens, Huston has had the honour of performing A Christmas Carol over 375 times since 1992. His upcoming productions include St. Nicholas and Underneath the Lintel.

A Christmas Carol will start at 7 p.m. at the London Convention Centre located at 300 York Street.

Students at Fanshawe College can purchase tickets at the Biz Booth in advance for $7. Staff and guests are $10 in advance.
