Another week and another strong showing from the Fanshawe Falcons cross-country teams. This past week, both the men's and women's teams continued their outstanding seasons by sweeping the overall team standings at the Sir Sanford Fleming Invitational in Peterborough, Ontario.

For the men it was yet another strong finish for Clint Smith who placed fourth overall, followed by teammates Biemnet Yemane and Josh Lumani to round out the top 10, all three men with times within the 30 minute mark. Also finishing strong for the Falcons was Sean Coleshill who finished 12th overall.

In women's action, Liliane Sparks led the way for the Falcons with a second place overall finish in a time of 20 minutes and 21 seconds. Not far behind Sparks was Erika Houde-Pearce in fourth place, with Melissa Linker and Tineke Dejong rounding out the top 10 with respectable sixth and 10th overall placements.

With the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association cross country season beginning to wind down with just the St. Clair invitational being held in Windsor, Ontario before the OCAA Championships here in the Forest City at the end of the month, it would be a huge understatement to say that this cross country season has been successful.
