Monday Night Raw was a night that Cena fans never thought they would see. The stipulation for the Cena versus Barrett confrontation at Hell in a Cell was that if Cena won, then Nexus would have to disband. However, if Cena lost then he would have to join the ranks of his hated enemies. The show began with Nexus, specifically Barrett, talking about his victory over Cena the preceding night. Barrett seems to have some charisma and I think he could be a top heel in the company if they give him a really good push beyond Nexus in the future. You can just tell that he is the breakout star of that stable.

Barrett asked Cena to come out and face what was coming. Cena came out to the ring without his music and some words were exchanged before they handed Cena a Nexus armband for him to wear. Cena stared at the armband, all the while looking like he was going to cry, before very reluctantly putting it on his arm, to the disbelief of his young fans. A match then occurred with Cena and Michael Tarver facing Evan Bourne and Mark Henry, which ended up being rather one-sided since Cena did all he could to leave Tarver in the ring by himself to take a beating. Afterwards, he announced that he was planning on destroying Nexus from within, and he started by attacking Tarver, who was still reeling from being slammed by Mark Henry. This caught the attention of the RAW general manager, who ordered Cena to start following what his leader Barrett says, or else the GM would fire Cena.

Next up Natalya Neidhart made very short work of Alicia Fox. Now here is a Diva who was trained at the legendary Hart Dungeon, and she actually can work, so why don't they put the belt on her already instead of the Mean Girls wannabes Laycool?

RAW ended with a Battle Royal amongst several of the superstars, and it came to just Cena and Barrett. The leader of Nexus demanded that Cena eliminate himself, which he reluctantly did. This gave Barrett the number one contender spot for the WWE Championship. The way they are going with this angle seems very similar to when Shawn Michaels had supposedly lost all his money, and had to be JBL's servant for a set period of time a few years back. I guess the WWE just doesn't have the testicular fortitude to turn Cena heel. That would spoil his image of being the kids' hero. Unfortunately in the process they are basically ignoring what a lot of adult and teenage fans want, which is an edgier product and more badass anti-hero superstars. The days of the Attitude Era were just insane, and I believe I can speak for a lot of people when I say that we want the Attitude back!
